What a wonderful Southern Indian restaurant!!!!!! A simple yet extremely comprehensive menu, just a great choice - not 70 or 80 choices as is the wont of some "Indian" Restaurants which is usually baffling - all dishes are clearly described and the taste actually matches the description! A good trick not usually encountered in many restaurants. There is a simple elegance about the place. The service is polite, professional and helpful - without being intrusive, Another very good trick! There is not the usually encountered pushiness where you are almost begged to have many side dishes, deserts and coffees! Great touch! To those of you reading this review - go and try this fine restaurant - you will certainly not be disappointed in my humble opinion! Oh! And the prices of all choices are reasonable - how about that! And FINALLY - clients are made feel genuinely welcome!!! Amen!
The food is fantastic, especially the dosa. Try the Maragu Koli and the Thengai Aadu Kullambu curries. One of the best curries in London - certainly different to your average tandoori but no more expensive. The staff are always very attentive and friendly, especially the manager. Always a great visit!
We had a wonderful dinner at Chettinad. We had a delicious bottle of Pinot Grigio, two appetizers, four curries, two orders of rice (tomato and lemon), and two different kinds of bread, for only 89 pounds, including a 12.5% gratuity. Every dish was flavourful and absolutely fabulous. Service was attentive and friendly. We were very happy we found the restaurant on Trip Advisor and trusted the reviews
We turned up last night without a reservation, and there were 13 of us.... The charming waiters at Chettinad snapped into action and had us seated within minutes. They were polite, attentive and very accommodating! As if the outstanding service wasn't enough, the food was truly delicious to boot. we shared a variety of dishes, each one bursting with colour and flavour. I highly recommend stumbling across this restaurant with a large group if you happen to be in the area. You'll be in for a treat!
I'm a regular lunch time visitor and I had been almost thrice every week for the past 1 year. A very good place to taste the delicacy of Chettinadu cuisine of South India. The best suited for spice lovers and people having Chicken and Lamb on their favoritism list. A wonderful hospitality and delicious food you can try, if you're out in search of Indian food in Central London.
First time while visiting from France. Very different from the normal Indian food, authentic south Indian cuisine. The staff here are super friendly and Sam help us to choose from the menu, very well knowledge about the menu. If you're after Indian food served in unexpected ways, this is the place. They take traditional Indian tastes and remix them for a delightful result. I believe I have found one of the best Indian restaurants in London
Having been recommended by a friend who is a regular there, an decided to go today with my mother. Having travelled to chettinad in india early this year, we were very keen to experience the Chettinad Cuisine again. I must say that this place is truly authentic as all the curries are cooked with fresh curry leaves. Masala Dosa was fantastic. Service was very good throughout. Manager/owner took care of us from the beginning till the end and even offered us the traditional chai. certainly will be back when in London again.
